The Anxiety and Panic Disorders Clinic of Santa Barbara was established and directed by Michael I. Beiley, Ph.D. in 1990 and has been in operation continuously in the downtown Santa Barbara area. Clients appropriate for evaluation and treatment are children, adolescents and adults. While the center works with physicians and psychiatrists, and has a Board Certified Child Psychiatrist in the office, the primary treatment focus is Cognitive-Behavior Therapy. The foundation of our treatment focus is evidence-based treatments which have been demonstrated to be effective in a large number of research studies and publications. Research has demonstrated that between 80% to 90% of individuals with Panic Disorder make a full recovery, while between 70% to 80% of adults with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and Social Anxiety Disorder can recover with Cognitive-Behavior Therapy. Research into other Anxiety Disorders has demonstrated similar outcomes with Cognitive-Behavior Therapy.
